Recognizing the Impact of Nonprofit Organizations in Austin
The All Things Positive team is constantly seeking to raise awareness and bring positive attention to both the new and the up-and-coming nonprofit organizations in greater Austin. For our New Years Eve event, we have chosen 3 incredible organizations that will benefit from the event. 50% of the event net profits will be shared among the selected non-profit beneficiaries.
WAL (Women’s Alliance for Leadership)
WAL is the first non-profit organization in Texas that is dedicated to empowering LGBTQ women in Texas through community education, career development, and advanced leadership skills. WAL has been successfully organizing events and monthly meetings where speakers are invited to discuss and present on various topics since 2010. WAL hosts regular workshops in Dallas and Austin locations, as well as an Annual Banquet to recognize women leaders in the community and award scholarships. The workshops are designed to be affordable and accessible to all community members of all backgrounds and ages. We believe that Leadership is the ability to organize, influence, and motivate others to deliberately achieve a common goal that would not have been achieved otherwise. At Women’s Alliance for Leadership, all are leaders.
Survive 2 Thrive Foundation
The Survive2Thrive Foundation’s mission is to provide life saving resources for wait-listed survivors of domestic violence and to provide continuing support to survivors whom have recently left their local emergency shelter. Our focus is to create a network of resources that will propel them forward into their new lives without violence and abuse, with a new mindset, new goals, and exciting options for what their lives can be. The Survive2Thrive Foundation wishes to help survivors live life to the fullest – from survival mode to thriving mode. Our network does not only support domestic violence survivors in their recovery and getting back on their feet but rather aims to provide resources for when they are ready to move in a new direction.
Lifeworks
As an Austin nonprofit focused on helping youth and young adults, they work every year with thousands of young men and women who’ve endured circumstances that are unimaginable. Abuse. Neglect. Abandonment. Violence. Many have endured years of moving from one foster care placement to another without ever knowing a single adult that they could depend on. Others have had to survive years of unstable or unsafe family situations. And far too many are forced into homelessness to escape intolerable circumstances for the “freedom” of life on the streets.
Please join us in supporting these organizations by purchasing a ticket to our very positive and inspiring event on New Years Eve at the W Hotel in downtown Austin.
